• Visit to the market + cooking class: from 11:30
• Cooking class only: from 12:30
• Menu*: mussels cooked in Godello wine, scallops with serrano ham, paella of squids and cockles, and Santiago cake (almond cake)

You are a tourist in La Coruña, you have an English speaker visiting you in town, you are coming on a cruise to spend the day or you just would like to spend a different and lovely day…whatever your reason, enjoy a unique experience with our Galician cooking class after, if you wish, a visit to our local market.

Let’s meet at Pencil & Fork first (c/Alfredo Vicenti 29) to have a coffee first. With our local foodie, we will then visit the famous, and the best fish and seafood market in Spain (and probably one of the best in the world in terms of product quality)  at the Plaza de Lugo. We will see the great variety of seafood and fish just coming fresh from the boats every day, ready for selling. The market also hosts a second floor for meat and poultry, and a third one for veggies and fruits.

We will be witnesses of the trading environment with the locals. A great opportunity to learn about the Galician gastronomic culture. The guide will buy all the products we will need for the cooking session and we will return to our kitchen, just a few minutes’ walk from the market. Once there, we will be ready to roll up our sleeves and start cooking.

What a better way to finish our gastro experience than by eating everything we have prepared ourselves with a nice glass of local wine or beer, of course (first drink is included). Tea or coffee are also included. The whole experience will last from 11:30 until 14:30. Are you in?

Cancellations made 72 hours or more in advance of the event date will receive a 100% refund. Otherwise, a voucher of the same amount will be offered in order to book future activities. Cancellations made by the organiser will incur on a 100% refund.
